Blog Roundup for October 22nd

Welcome to my blog, please feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed or leave a comment.

Maybe I’m a little tired today but my usual 500+ blog articles are running a little slow today.

First off, thanks for the great comments on the new design. There’s a lot of work that goes into putting together this blog and I’m still working on a lot of the details. Your feedback is always appreciated.

Now … onto the blogs.

If you’re looking to register a domain name in the near future, GoDaddy is offer a great deal. $2.19 if you use the coupon code 199TEST. Thanks to Jason for pointing this one out. If you’re on a real budget, why not follow my tutorial on putting up a web site for less than $100 and take advantage of the great theme by Upstart Blogger? If WordPress isn’t your cup of tea, follow my recent tutorial on building a web site in Dreamweaver and you’re off to the races.

There’s a great write up on the iTunes Buy Button that I really enjoyed this morning. Usability is under rated, great usability is practically forgotten in the rush to put up cheap web sites. http://www.thewebsiteisdown.com/ has to win for the best runner up for a cool domain name I came across this week, plus the video is pretty entertaining but … you would never catch me playing games at work (or at least not that game).

Google is getting into the election through Google Trends, if you want to know how you’re district is trending this is pretty cool. We just wrapped up an election here in Canuckville, this would really have helped with strategic voting.

A while back I wrote about a plugin for WordPress that would help you find great photos for your blog, now The Future Buzz has upped me by posting some awesome photos from Flickr. Speaking of which, the awesome photo above is from image credit:  a4gpa.

This video, for the record sums up my day:

Thanks for the link, Chris - all those artists embracing creative commons on flickr and other sites get so much exposure for their work. I’ve encourages all the photographers I work with professionally to at least put some of their stuff out in a CC license.

Your talent should work for you, not gather digital dust.
