Welcome to my blog, please feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed, join me on Twitter or leave a comment.
I installed a new RSS tool for myself this week called NetNewsWire and it’s greatly improved my ability to track RSS feeds from other websites. You know what I wish somebody would add to an RSS reader? A feature like Apple Genius for iTunes, the ability for it to look at the feeds I read and recommend similar feeds across the web.. This sounds like a simple feature but apparently it’s not.
So, this morning has been a virtual gold mine of really cool articles but before I move onto those, I just rewrote the robot meta tag to ensure duplicated content from multiple categories only shows up once, this should help websites SEO a lot as well. The link is Fixing duplicate content so Google doesn’t see it. JohnCow has a great article on two amazing Google data mining tools, ProBlogger wants to know about your blog in 140 words or less which is a pretty cool way to learn about people. I’m still trying to learn what you’re reading … hint hint … it’s a free link to your site.
I had some problems with a Lighbox plugin this week that caused my site to not to work in IE, I’ve fixed that but it explains an interesting phenomenon on my Analytics … 75% of my readership has been FireFox, 10% Safari and 5% Chrome, I was only seeing a small percentage of Internet Explorer users, this explains a lot.
Upstart Blogger, one of my favorite blogs has a great article on tuning up your blog for the season, is Google Evil? BlogOFriends have two interesting articles about Making Money and how to start blogging.
That’s it for the weekend, I hope everybody has a chance to read my new tutorials and please as always leave your comments.
