Amazing Helicopter Paint Job
Welcome to my blog, please feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed, join me on Twitter or leave a comment.
For the regulars around here, you know that I rarely (if ever) post things about the world outside SEO, WordPress and online marketing here but my brother-in-law sent me this from Somerset England and I simply had to share it with you.
The Mi-24 Hind helicopter pictured below is apparently serving with a Canadian unit in Afghanistan (I’ve had a couple people tell me this helicopter isn’t with the Canadians although there seems to be some debate as to who’s it with). If anybody can confirm (or deny) this and let me know who to credit for these great photos I would really appreciate it.

If anybody can provide me a link (or two) of who this pretty little bird belongs to, I’d love to credit the correct people. Thanks.

What helicopter? I just saw a bird! :)

My friend Pete just pointed out to me that these photos are a couple years old. It’s funny how sometimes I miss really cool things but even more amusing that they come back around :)
Those are really nice pictures, it’s cool that they have painted the helicopters.
just curious – what kind of paint do you use on military vehicles? is it enamel paint?
- Hungarian Air Force MI-24 for Airshow display… Not photoshop! I’ve seen it live.
- Hey guys, many thanks. I was about to say it was actually a member of the condor legion…
Maybe they should arm them at airshows, it would guaruntee a round of applause!
- Fidelxxx hit the nail on the head. While making the desplay rounds at air shows it was unarmed.
Now its on permanent static desplay at Szolnok Hungary.
- This helicopter is real, but description is fake. It’s Hungarian Air Forces Mil Mi-24 with custom
painting used ONLY during air shows. Only Mi-24 helicopters in Afghanistan were piloted by
Soviet pilots during Afghan War.
@Reinhard – thanks for the corrections, it’s great to know the full details behind this.
What great photos! I would love to see this thing flying overhead.
