When Montreal design studio house9 design needed to have a website built for a great photopher, Dallas Curow (also of Montreal) they asked me to put together an easy to manage tool using WordPress which would allow Dallas to easy add new photos, update her text and ensure prospective clients can easily contact her.

portfolio Dallas Curow imageWordPress allowed me to use a super easy content management tool without needed to program a complex tool from scratch, it allow allows this talented young artist to focus on what she knows best, photography. To make the most of the site, it’s also integrated into Google applications for Analytics and Webmaster Tools.

Thanks to house9 design for the awesome design but do you know what really makes this website great? Amazing content in the form of brilliant photographs from Dallas Curow.

New Business Cards for Tinker Priest Media

cards 300x150 New Business Cards for Tinker Priest Media imageI’ve just finished a new business card design for Tinker Priest Media, my partnership with web design junky Chris Bavota of Montreal.

tinker priest card 294x300 New Business Cards for Tinker Priest Media imageThe card was a lot of fun to design as it features the new logo (also designed by me) and a rich red strip. I’m not sure what my inspiration was for the red but I’ll be honest and say that gradient background was a total accident. When I first produced the card, it was meant to be white and I actually exported the original artwork from Adobe Illustrator as a white background. After bringing it into Carrara for 3D rendering I set a light incorrectly and the resulting render had a reddish orange gradient on the card. Much like the when a scientist exclaims “that’s interesting” after an unexpected result, I made the changes to my original EPS artwork to ensure the piece printed with the same burn texture.
