Five Articles by Matt Cutts You Should Read
For those of you who don’t know who Matt Cutts is, here’s a snippet from his Wikipedia bio:
Matt Cutts works for the Search Quality group in Google, specializing in search engine optimization issues.He is well known in the SEO community for enforcing the Google Webmaster Guidelines and cracking down on link spam. Cutts also advised the public on how to get better website visibility in Google
Simply put, he’s a guy that knows exactly what he’s talking about when it comes to Google and if he doesn’t know it … he knows the people to ask. There’s a lot of great stuff on his website but there are a few articles that I think anybody who wants to have a successful website should read:
Google Bombs
By the very nature of what Google is and how it works, it’s possible to overwhelm the search engine giant to force it to assume a website is about something other than what it is. Obviously, this isn’t a good thing and Google works hard to avoid the dreaded Google Bomb. Matt talks about the Algorithm to reduce Googlebomb impact.

Usually? When Matt Cutts says something, the earth shakes a little when online marketters adjust their business plans. Very similar to the way the stock market adjusts every time Ben Bernanke says something. ;)

Matt Cutts is definitely someone we should all be following. Sometimes his posts get a little technical and go over my head a bit, but its important to listen to what he says about seo and link-building.

:) Matt certainly knows his stuff. Actually sometimes I feel a little guilty because 90% of what I tell people in lectures and presentations I had read off his website.
The Google Bombs article was very informative. I’m not sure I understand it all yet, but it’s something we need to know about. I look forward to reading more of Matt Cutts’ articles.
I’d been hearing Matt’s name a lot and had never really known who it was. It sounds like he writes about interesting stuff and given who he is, it probably is a good idea to follow him.

I’ll check these out. More people should read Matt Cutts. There would be a lot fewer misconceptions about SEO and how Google works if they did.
