Adobe Dreamweaver Tip for Working with WordPress
Two of my favorite programs in the world are Dreamweaver from Adobe and WordPress, the online blogging software that’s powering thisismyurl.com as well as a million other websites. One of the big problems I’ve had with WP over the past could of years however is a less than reliable WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor, it might be because I’m on a Mac or maybe because I’m picky about the xHTML code that my site uses but over the years I’ve been a little disappointed in the build in editor.
Instead, here’s what I like to do:
- Open a new document in Dreamweaver
- Switch to Code View and clear all (Apple-A followed by a Delete)
- Then back to Design View
Once I’ve written or edited my content, I add all my hyperlinks etc. using Dreamweaver’s handy tool bar, apply my styles, set my lists etc. and then pop back into Code View where I can copy my perfectly formatted code and drop it into WordPress.
What’s your best tip for working between WordPress and Dreamweaver?
